DJI once again surprises us with the launch of its new drone, the DJI Neo. This small drone weighs about 135 grams, making it one of the lightest on the market and entering the territory of the HOVERAir X1. Until now, HOVERAir was the only company offering drones with such a light weight, so we can consider that DJI, with this new range of drones, is diving into the realm of ultralight drones or “selfie drones.”
The DJI Neo is perfect for flying indoors or in confined spaces, offering a versatile and economical solution for drone enthusiasts. In this post, we will analyze all the features of this new drone.
DJI Neo: Aerial Fun in an Ultralight Size
Just as we did with the DJI Air 3 or the DJI Avata 2, we will analyze this new DJI Neo.
Weighing only 135 grams, this drone becomes one of the lightest on the market, which facilitates its transport and use in almost any environment. Additionally, this drone has a C0 class marking. This means it complies with the latest regulations and rules in the European Union, allowing for greater freedom of flight. Moreover, with its 18 minutes of flight time, it far surpasses the competition in this aspect.
Despite its small size, the DJI Neo features a 1/2″ sensor and is capable of recording in 4K at 30FPS. It has 22GB of internal storage and several smart and AI tracking functions. This new AI will facilitate the tracking of people and moving objects. Therefore, it will include FocusTrack and some QuickShots like Dronie, Rocket, or Boomerang.
FPV Compatibility and Voice Control
Although the DJI Neo is not an FPV drone per se, it is compatible with the DJI Goggles 3 and the DJI RC Motion 3.
Another new feature is that we will be able to give voice commands for hands-free operations.
